Thea Dudley is a credit management survivor in the building material and construction industry. She started out working with her subcontractor dad, and shortly thereafter realized that manual labor was not for her. She then moved into the power seat of the business — granting credit and collecting the money. Thea has spent her 30 year career working across the credit departments of manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, contractors, subcontractors, leading credit teams, aiding accounts payable, and bringing order to cash processes to improve the cash flow of both the company and the customer. She held Vice President of Finance roles at two major industry players, and has trained and managed credit managers, sales reps, and even company presidents to think of the credit function in a profit-generating light.

Thea writes a credit Q&A Column and Webex series for LBM Journal. She is a past contributor to ProSales magazine and is a frequent speaker at industry events, podcasts and virtual learning. Thea works with credit departments across the country to secure healthy AR management and proactive credit and collection practices.

Thea Dudley is one of the nation's leading experts on AR management in the building material dealer and construction space. She has spent her entire career in the construction and building materials industry. Building on her understanding of contractor credit, she quickly moved into credit management roles with Roofing Supply, Louis and Company, and West-Mar. She then spent 16 years with Guardian Building Products, developing many of their credit programs and running the financial services department before moving to SRS Distribution. Thea is now following her passion of educating and leading the next generation of credit overlords. She has developed a Credit Masterclass for Levelset and her first book, The Credit Overlords Guide to Credit and Collections is heading into its revised second edition this fall.
